Bill Clinton on Why Bush Won

Bill Clinton is only half right in his attempt to state why Bush won re-election. This excerpt gives a clue to his central blind spot:
If we let people believe that our party doesn't believe in faith and family, doesn't believe in work and freedom, that's our fault.
Sorry, Bill, but the problem is worse than that. Let me re-phrase: Unless your party gets its mind right about faith and family, and learns to believe in work and freedom, your party might never win another election. That is your real fault. We don't just perceive that you don't believe in these things; we observe it.
